Gomezzzzzzz

James Gomez of the Worker's Party's on the headlines. Him and his bloody cock up. All I'm thinking is that if not for the CCTV, the poor election officer would have kenna-ed jialat jialat. Just callously saboh innocent ppl lydat, wah lau still wanna be MP. Eeeyer! Pui!

So many clowns this GE. Esp the SDP, bloody clown squad. I would vote for the opposition, I really would. The moment they stop fielding clowns, that is.

Random thought

Random thought: Everybody wants an opposition in parliament. They just don't want one in their own constituency.

Election Rally

Went to the PAP rally for the Sembawang GRC at Woodlands stadium just now with Teh. The first rally that the both of us have ever attended. Quite interesting really, walking through the muddy grass field under the harsh glare of the white spotlights to hear the MPs giving their speeches. It was hot and humid and there were plenty of mosquitoes around, lots of policemen in attendence, and the PAP supporters taking up an entire section of the stadium's seats, each and every one of 'em holding on to two white plastic tubes filled with air that they used to bang together everytime one of the MPs finished a sentence. It got so routine that it wasn't too long before Teh and myself could predict when they would next do the whole banging thing.

Oh and some enterprising Singaporeans were there outside the stadium selling ice-cream.

But it was, for me, an enjoyable experience. Listening to the PAP MPs talking, blasting the opposition, the supporters cheering, seeing some of the families bring ground mats to sit on like it was a picnic, others holding up placards that said in bright colorful shiny letters 'I LOVE YOU'

Many of the people there, I'm sure, went with the same mood as going for a movie, I suppose I'm guilty of that too, but what the heck, it's a rally given by the party that I'm supporting, even though it isn't in my ward! One of the highlights was when this poor MP (don't recall his name) was speaking and was interrupted halfway by the arrival of the Minister of Health Mr Khaw Boon Wan, whom heads the Sembawang GRC. Labeled the 'General of Sembawang', his arrival was greated with raucous cheers. So Mr Khaw waves, everyone cheers, and he sits down. And the MP continues with his speech, only to be interrupted yet again shortly after by the arrival of the Prime Minister. Even louder cheering and clapping, and it wasn't long before that poor MP returned to his seat. Hahahahahahaaha.

Anyway, it was really nice, I wanna go for the next rally at my ward!

"You have a job to do, and so do it. Yours is to sell socks and suspenders. Mine is to cross examine people like you and crush them."
